I really appreciated this short article on the "fourth trimester".
It explains my values on how I hope to parent my infant.

Essentially: feeding on demand, sleeping when the baby sleeps, and giving constant snuggles. All snuggles all the time. Sounds like bliss. Exhausting bliss at times, I'm sure, but bliss nonetheless.
I want to mention it in advance because I know that this style of parenting doesn't mesh with a lot of people's expectations about "sleep training" and "feeding schedules" and I am hoping for compassion and understanding when I'm planning to meet someone somewhere and am late because the babe needed to nurse, or because an unscheduled nap needed to happen. I'm looking forward to this go-with-the-flow time in our lives and I'm hoping that my community of friends will be into it too.
The bonus will be: snuggles! All snuggles, all the time.

I was watching Being Erica and one of the moms was trying to get the baby to practice "self soothing" and it seemed really nutso to me. Fourth trimester makes sense to me!
