I am really loving my big round belly, and loving the crafting/nesting I've been doing.
Foetie had the hiccups for about 10 minutes tonight - it was a record! Usually it's just for a minute or so. S/he was head down again, which I am glad about. Keep that habit, Little One!
I've realised that not only is my sewing obsession good for my baby's future wardrobe needs and good stress relief for me, but it's also good for "optimal foetal positioning"! The seated forward lean required for sewing at the machine is a good position for lining up the baby in a good position for delivery. I'll have to keep this up! ;-)
Here's my latest craft project: a hoodie made from scrap fabric & donated fabric, in a pattern that I designed myself. (And by designed, I mean strongly based on an ol.d nav.y baby hoodie I bought ages ago. I look forward to finishing it. (Baby hoodies seem to cost at least $15! That seems so silly for such a small amount of fabric! They seem to be unfortunately rare finds at the thrift store, too. Luckily I have some of my own baby sweaters saved at my Dad's house, so my wee one will be able to wear those to keep warm through the fall & winter.)

| Not yet complete, but it's taking shape! |
The other news is that my ankles and feet are no longer extremely swollen every day. They're often extremely swollen, but not every day and I am tremendously enjoying those rare days when they behave themselves. On Sunday I went for a nature walk with a friend and my dog at the Brickworks and my feet didn't hurt at all! They were a bit tired at the end of the day, and they were terribly swollen the next day, but I sure enjoyed that day of normalcy! I think a good part of it has to do with me working shorter hours (and getting more rest) and the city's temperature becoming more moderate. I even wore a sweater for a little while this evening!!
I have 2.5 weeks of work remaining. I'm looking forward to this fall for so many reasons. I will have a few weeks of unpaid pre-maternity-leave, but I don't even care if I have no money coming in. I just really really need/want the time off to settle into my new abode/city and to attend appointments and such.
