I'm still pregnant!
My due date has officially gone by and no baby yet. However, I did induction acupuncture on Saturday and have had powerful and uncomfortable Braxton Hicks contractions on and off since then. Sometimes they have a rhythm (q 15 mins) but mostly they've been random. They seem worse when I have to pee - which is every 30 mins it seems.
I feel good. I feel mentally really ready and excited for the birth, and physically i feel good too. My hands are still messed up with the carpal tunnel syndrome and are partially numb and tingly for most of the day, and stiff like paddles when I wake up, but they aren't waking me up with pain in the middle of the night any more so I consider that to be a huge improvement.
Foetie is moving a lot lately. S/he is consistently in ROA (right occiput anterior, see diagram here: http://pregnancy.about.com/od/laborbasics/ss/fetalpositions_5.htm) which is a pretty good position for labour & birth. Sometimes his/her foot jabs my upper left belly so hard it makes me moan. All the more reason to give birth sooner than later...
I really hope to give birth this week. A good friend is in town from Thunder Bay and not only is she a recent naturopathy school grad (and can therefore help me with acupuncture, homeopathy and such) but she'll also be part of my support team of friends if it happen this week. Cross your fingers for me?
I'm excited. Optimistic. And pretty relaxed.
It feels great to be at this point.
The apartment is pretty awesome now.
I have my support network in place.
My freezer is well stocked.
I feel well.
I'm a very lucky woman.
Now: I'm ready for the baby to be born!!
My fingers are numb from typing this. I guess it's time for bed.
XO to my faraway friends.
